Self Portraits

Ok so being that I'm so self absorbed, this week's assignment was a BREEZE!! hahaha Yes, we were asked to take self portraits of ourselves and I had a field day. There were so many more pictures I wanted to post, but I didn't want to bore you so here are my favorites. I wanted to try a blk/wht series too. Oh! and I forgot to mention, I used my new Manfrotto Tripod and I LOVE it!!

My First Wedding Assist

So I had the wonderful privilege of assisting famed wedding photographer Punam Bean. I learned so much in the 10 hrs I worked for her and I hope I get to do it again! It was such a treat. I was too self conscious to shoot but in the spare moments that I mustered up the guts to pull out my camera, this is what I managed to capture. The wedding was at The Foundry in NY. It was an absolutely beautiful place and could I do my wedding all over again, this would be the place to do it, and Punam would be the woman to photograph it.

Post Wedding Blues - or Yellows?

So I've been married around 10 months now and I'm STILL looking back at how I could've made my wedding better!! Talk about obsessed!!! Anyway, I was so busy handmaking everything that I never had the chance to blog about my creations. So here's a whole entry dedicated to my craftiness in wedding planning.
First things first, gotta pick your color scheme. I personally feel that this is the most important thing you could do. It decides the color of your invitations, programs, flowers, bridesmaid dresses,,,need I go on? My favorite color, at the time of planning, was and is still, YELLOW!!! Working in fashion definitely helps because yellow was the trending color of the season. So here began my "yellow fever". I did ALOT of research on how to make my wedding look like a million bucks without spending a million. It was basically designed on a dime and I'm really satisfied at how it turned out.

Our wedding was also featured in The Knot so please stop by and take a look!!

So my envelopes, hangtag cards, and inner folders were all by Waste Not Paper. The owners of Cambridge Street Papers(this super cute stationery/ paper store in NJ) were so kind enough to reach out to Waste Not Paper and place a personal order for me. So sweet!!

I designed and printed the envelope mailing labels:

...which wrapped around to the back and reveals my signature wedding symbols - silhouettes of our heads. My husband was NOT a big fan of his head being plastered everywhere. hahaha MEN!!!

Front view of my hangtag invitation. Wrapped in Yellow grosgrain with stickers of our silhouettes again. Oh! and can't forget the yellow and white striped ribbon tied through the grommets. To the left is the folder that I put everything in.

This is the other side with the writing on it. I also printed the invites on cream colored textured cardstock and used glu dots to get the raised look.

I designed and customized my own glossy postcards as my RSVP cards from Next Day FlyersThey make amazing quality cards of ALL kinds AND they're affordable. Their card stock is really heavy so it feels expensive. I even used them for my customized Christmas cards in which I used one of my wedding photos by Punam Bean. I got alot of raves about them.

This is the other side of the postcards.

Everything placed in the folder.

Matching programs tied with the same yellow and white striped grosgrain ribbon. These covers and insert papers were ordered from Paper Presentation in NY.
A vintage style corkboard covered in yellow and white striped fabric was used for the table no. holder which were printed on little hangtags and pinned on with gold button tacks. I also had two topiary plants placed on either side of the corkboard but I guess it didn't make it into the shot. The corkboard, button tacks, and topiary plants were all from Ballard Designs.

and here's a closeup of it.

Favor boxes purchased from Bayleys Boxes. I had to get my whole family to help assemble these. My job was QC and let me just say, "It's so hard to find good help these days!" hahaha justkidding guys. (who am I kidding, they don't even read this)

The next entry will be about the fashion/ apparel portion of the wedding. I need to go to sleep.

Out for a Walk

I was out walking Bailey and I randomly took this photo. It's funny because all my best shots occur when I'm not playing around with all my settings. Maybe I should always shoot this way. hmmm... well, you may not think this is my best shot, but I certainly think it's one of my better ones. ha! To my defense, blogspot totally sucked the color out of this photo. *sigh* I need to get a better host for my blog.

Homage to Bailey

Some of you might have already seen these. Since I have no new photos, I figured I'd post pictures of my beloved dog who is sick. He is the best dog in the world!!!

My Logo

It's been a long time since I've taken some pictures. Shame on me!! I couldn't help it because we haven't had photo class in the last 2 weeks. My teacher would not be happy. I've been so busy b/c my dog Bailey has been sick. :( but in the meantime, I was able to dig out an old logo that my friend, Myldwin Pierre, designed. Props to him!! (Sorry Myldwin, I had to change the color and font. :) I hope you don't mind. ) Tell me what you think of it!! It's an "S" and a "B" made to look like a butterfly. Clever, eh!!

Portraits of Glo

So this week my assignment was to take portraits of someone. Luckily, my sister had her morning free and after much coercing, she agreed to be my subject as we took some photos in front of a stranger's house in Rutherford, NJ.
