WELL Tots

Kids are so much fun to photograph b/c they are such hams and not afraid to bare it all in front of the camera. Here are some of the Bethany Well baby/ Toddlers that I managed to get to pose for me. As you will see below, Abby was the star of the show.

Babysitting

So this is what happens when my sister and BIL leave their kids with me for an evening. I spent most of the evening chasing them around with my camera and of course b/c they knew I wanted them to sit still, they did the exact opposite. Although, I think Richie is finally getting the hang of modeling for me. haha They are the cutest kids an Aunt could ever ask for. Don't you just want to eat them up?

and introducing the new addition to their family Johann (I think that's how you spell it; if it's wrong, I can guarantee that BIL will leave a comment correcting me. hahaha)

FYI...I did not pose them like this. The two dogs were just lying there like that and Richie took it upon himself to mimic them. I'm just dying over how cute they all are. Too bad Chloe would not cooperate. hahaha

Star Struck in Kuwait

So as most of you know my husband Dave is in Kuwait. Alot of people assume that he's suffering out there, but things can't so be so bad if he's meeting celebrities. haha He won tickets to a premiere showing of the new Star Trek movie and got to meet the cast. Here is the guy who play's Spok. If any of you guys are HEROES fans like Dave and I are, you'll know that this is Sylar from the TV show Heroes!! I'm jealous.

Photoshop Trickery

It's been a while since I've shot so I decided to take some old photos and do some photoshop tricks. I also learned about The Rule of Thirds, in achieving a well composed photo, from Punam. So I googled it today and did some more research into it. The photos that I've worked on today demonstrate not only my agile skills of cropping/ stretching/ cloning in photoshop (j/k haha) but also demonstrates what I learned regarding the "rule of thirds". Enjoy!!

These first two photos I just put up b/c I like them. haha

So here's the BEFORE:

and the AFTER (of much cropping, cloning, & stretchging):
(notice how I tried to follow the rule of thirds by making sure
Richie's eyes landed on the intersecting lines. Also used
the handy blur tool to mask some of my erroneous cloning
and stretching on the left side to extend the picture out.)
BEFORE:
AFTER:
(this one was quite a challenge b/c I had to draw in a big
portion of his shirt at the bottom and sides.)
TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!!

Self Portraits

Ok so being that I'm so self absorbed, this week's assignment was a BREEZE!! hahaha Yes, we were asked to take self portraits of ourselves and I had a field day. There were so many more pictures I wanted to post, but I didn't want to bore you so here are my favorites. I wanted to try a blk/wht series too. Oh! and I forgot to mention, I used my new Manfrotto Tripod and I LOVE it!!

My First Wedding Assist

So I had the wonderful privilege of assisting famed wedding photographer Punam Bean. I learned so much in the 10 hrs I worked for her and I hope I get to do it again! It was such a treat. I was too self conscious to shoot but in the spare moments that I mustered up the guts to pull out my camera, this is what I managed to capture. The wedding was at The Foundry in NY. It was an absolutely beautiful place and could I do my wedding all over again, this would be the place to do it, and Punam would be the woman to photograph it.
